Anita Mobley:
Anita Mobley was appointed head volleyball coach for the Columbia High School Lady Capitals in 1998. Under her leadership the team has accomplished an outstanding winning record of 135-18, and holds (3) 5-AA and (4) 4-AA Regional Champion-ships. The team has appeared in the 2A play-offs each year, and played for the 2000 2A Lower State Championship. Mobley has been named Region 5AA and Region 4AA 2007 Volleyball Coach of the Year for the 7th time during her high school coaching career at Columbia High. Coach Mobley was one of the coaches for the North Team of the 2004 2A North/South All-Stars match in which the north team won 3-0. Mobley, from Columbia, graduated from Benedict College, where she was a four-year standout on the Benedict Tiger Volleyball Team.
Kesha Gillens:
At 32, Kesha still has the passion for volleyball, so much that she was bursting with excitement when asked to help start the Southern Smashers volleyball Team. She still has the jumps, power and smarts to rank among the best volleyball players in South Carolina. She's 5 feet 10 and plays taller (the best compliment in this sport), a human exclamation point all over the net, an outside hitter with a killer smash. Kesha’s passion and dedication to Volleyball is reflected in her daily instruction and motivation of her team. Although Kesha has started at the ground floor of team building and development of the Southern Smashers, she seeks to train her existing team, while bringing in new and experienced talent. Kesha seeks to bring energy, excitement, and fun to the Southern Smashers Team, by enabling her team the opportunity to learn through volleyball that they can achieve anything through discipline and hard work.
